Add inspection

You can complete inspections on, vehicles, assemblies and tyres.

The ‘Inspection’ dialogue differs only slightly from vehicles, assemblies and tyres.  The two noticeable differences are the addition of positions and vehicle hours to the vehicle ‘Inspection’ dialogue.

Vehicle inspections capture a significant amount of information, and are effectively a consolidation of the ‘Add Tyre Pressure’ and ‘Add Tread Depth’ dialogues.  As you can see from the image below, the Inspection dialogue follows the standard formatting that you are accustomed to.  However, there are two significant differences.

  • The user can assign any number of damage entries to a single position including photos.
  • Photos can be taken at any time during the inspection

As inspections capture the same data as in both the pressure check and tread depth dialogues, if you need to do both, consider doing an inspection as it will be quicker

Add Damage

The ‘Inspection’ dialogue allows you to capture the following information.

  • Date of the inspection
  • The inspectors name
  • The customer who owns the equipment
  • The equipment’s site and location
  • The inspection type, whether rolling or static
  • The weather, whether dry or wet
  • Vehicle hours (Vehicles only)
  • Whether the tyres are hot or cold when pressures were taken
  • Pressure reading
  • Tread depth outer, and inner readings
  • The inspection status of the asset (essentially the disposition)
  • Picture
  • Damage
    • Lug
    • Cut Depth
    • Side of damage (A or B)
    • Priority (1-3)
    • Cut location (Crown, rim, sidewall)
    • Notes
    • Picture of damage

After adding damage to a tyre, the damage will be listed in the damage list.  Although the data may seem counter intuitive, it adheres to the following convention: Lug, Cut Depth, Cut Location, Priority.

The image below shows a damage entry, can you decipher the code?

Lug:

Cut Depth:

Just Location:

Priority:

As you move through each position, a visual queue in the form of a ‘tick’ will overlay the position number as shown below.  This tells you that you have completed adding the appropriate data for that position.

If you try to select a vehicle position that doesn’t have an assembly fitted, although the position button will be displayed, you will not be able to select that position.
