Changing Assembly Positions is an important function for field staff. Being able to move positions around quickly and efficiently enhances the workflow and doesn’t detract from the physical task at hand. The Change Assembly dialogue will be familiar to you as it contains the same basic layout as the pressure and tread depth dialogues, but with a few changes.
You need to be in the Asset module to complete this tutorial.
- Using a current vehicle from the assets context menu click the ‘edit’ context menu and select ‘Change Assembly Position’
- Select a position that has an assembly assigned, and move it to the maintenance pad
- From the available spares list, move an assembly to a position. It doesn’t matter what position you move it too, just remember what positions you moved it too. (If you don't see any available spare assemblies, you will need to create one. If you are unsure how to create one, view the Create rim/wheel assembly tutorial)
- Now, from the spare that is on the maintenance pad move it to the position you just populated with the spare from step 5 above.
- What happened?
- Now move the spare on the maintenance pad to a different position
- Update the ‘Current Vehicle Hours’ and press save
