Scrapping an Assembly

The Scrap Assembly function provides a mechanism to break an assembly into it component parts. The ‘scrap’ terminology is used here differs from scrapping an individual asset as it only breaks apart the two assets for later use.  However, this process gives you have the ability to set different dispositions or scrap each component.

To scrap an assembly, find the desired assembly and select ‘Scrap Assembly’ from the ‘edit’ context menu:

The scrap assembly dialogue will be displayed showing each individual component. From here, you select each asset and assign the appropriate disposition, by default the disposition is set to Spare and the site and location are set to the assets current location.  You can however, move these assets to a different site or location.

NOTE: Scrapping an assembly that is currently assigned to a vehicle position will require you to add the vehicle hours and the tyres remaining tread depths.

In the event that you scrap a tyre, the ‘Scrap Tyre’ dialogue box will be displayed asking you for a scrap reason and failure modes. If the tyre was part of an assembly that was fitted to a vehicle position, the tread depths from the 'Scrap Assembly' dialogue will be used.

NOTE:  Scrap Reasons and Failure Modes can be modified in the system settings.  If the required option is not available please see your administrator
