Keep Existing Tyre & Fit New Rim/Wheel

During the tyres life cycle there will be times when a tyre will need to be refitted to a different rim or wheel.  TMaSS provides two mechanisms to achieve this goal, these are:

  1. Break Assembly
  2. Scrap Assembly + Create Assembly

Break assembly is by far the quickest and easiest method to use and will be covered here.

Breaking An Assembly

First things first, you need to identify the target assembly and make sure the new Rim or Wheel is available to be fitted, meaning it has a disposition of Spare or New.

  1. Once you have Identified and found the target assembly hover over it with your mouse, and from the 'Edit'  context menu select 'Break Assembly'
  2. The 'Break Assembly will be displayed.  As we want to keep the existing Tyre, either remove the rim / wheel as a spareor scrapit.
  3. Once the Old rim or wheel has been removed, you can replace it by selecting the required asset from the spares list. Press the add button
  4. Once this has been completed a new assembly will have been created.
  5. Now locate the new assembly and move it to the desired vehicle.  For a procedure on how to do this go here:

Copy the new assembly number so you can search for it once you exit the 'Break Assembly' dialogue.  This will make fining and moving it much quicker.
