To create an observation, select the ‘Safety’ module and select the Safety Observation sub-module (it will be selected by default).



To start a new observation, press the ‘Add’ button, the wizard will begin. By default, the date, company, site and conducted by field will be automatically populated.  Select the operator and offsider by clicking the dropdown list boxes and selecting the required user.



 If the user is not in the system, or because they are not one of company’s employees, you can select ‘Other’ from the list and enter their name manually



1. Details Screen

The first step is when and where the observation was completed as well as who conducted the observation and on whom.  


NOTE:  If the user is not listed in the operator or offsider drop-downs,  you can select ‘Other’ from the bottom of the drop-down list and enter their name manually 



2.  Job task being performed

The second step in the procedure is the job task being performed.  Here you select the appropriate task and enter any pertinent information relating to the task.



3. Documentation Complete & Available

The third step in the procedure is the Documentation Complete and Available form. Here is where you select the required documents that have been reviewed and take any appropriate photos.



4.  Safe Acts Observed / Compliance


The forth step is the Safe Acts Observed / Compliance to Procedure form.  This allows the observer to either confirm (Yes) or deny (No) compliance for the respective procedure, enter any further information in the text box provided or take a photo confirming the action.





By selecting "No" a non-conformance will be registered and an alert will be sent out to the sites safety officer.  Non-conformances are also displayed on the 'Manager Review' page.



5. Checklist - Page 1 & 2

Steps five in the wizard are the Checklists, which contain two pages, like page 4, they allow the observer to confirm or deny the specific items, write a brief description and take any appropriate photos.

6. Additional Comments and Pictures

Step 6 of the wizard is the Additional Comments and Pictures page.  Here the observer can add additional comments as well as take additional photos.



7. Signoff

Step 7, Signoff, is the final step in the wizard. Here the observer, by clicking on the pen  button, can finalise the wizard by signing off. Once the pen button is pressed the signature pane is displayed, the observer signs the form and saves.



   

The signature pages differ on the iPad and web versions, as the web version uses an image file upload instead of a actual signature.

To complete the observation click the savebutton.  Note that you cannot save an observation without a signature.
