One important function of the Safety Observations module is the ability to ‘approve’ observations for viewing by users that are outside of your company, but have access to the site at which the observation was conducted.  By default, when you create an observation all users within your company can view it, while users of other companies cannot.

This is an important feature that requires understanding.  For example, there will be times where safety observations are completed at a customer’s site, and you do not wish the customer to see it, in this case do not approve the observation.

However, there may be an agreement in place where the customer requires a certain number of observations to have been completed.  Therefore, the way we release an observation for viewing by the customer is to approve it.

Approving an observation makes it viewable by any user that  has access to the site at which the observation is located.

You can approve an observation while completing a Manager Review or by press 'Approve' from the edit context menu.  While completing a Manager Review, to approve the observation  tick the ‘Approve’ checkbox at the bottom of the dialogue, save, and its ready for your customers to view.  Otherwise, from the edit context menu, select "Approve" from the menu options to achieve the same goal.

Once approved, you will notice that the object now has the ‘Approved’ check box ticked.

Un-approving an Observation

In the event that you would like to revert the observations approved status you can.  Just find the observation you would like to un-approve, and from the objects edit context menu click “Un-Approve’
