You can complete inspections on tyres that are assets but also not assets in the system (v2.1.6).

The ‘Inspection’ dialogue differs only slightly from vehicles as the "Serial Number" and "Size & Specification" fields are both lookup and free text fields.  Meaning, that when you start typing the system will lookup and list any asset or specification in the system that is found that meets that search criteria.  However, if an asset or specification is not found it will allow you to save the text you have entered.

Vehicle inspections capture a significant amount of information, and are effectively a consolidation of the ‘Add Tyre Pressure’ and ‘Add Tread Depth’ dialogues.  As you can see from the image below, the tyre Inspection dialogue follows the standard formatting that you are accustomed to.

Tyre Inspection dialogue

If an tyre asset has a disposition of "In Production", or is assigned to a vehicle position you will not be able to update the hours.

There are two types of tyre inspections:

  1. A Tyre asset within the system.
  2. A Tyre asset that is not in the system.

The significant differences between the two inspection tyres is that for tyre assets in the system, you create an inspection from the tyre asset object or from the Inspections sub-module.  For tyres that are not assets in the system go to the Inspection sub-module and press the 'Add' button as shown here:

You can also create inspections for tyres that are in the system from the Inspections sub-module.  When you start typing a serial number, if it's found it will be displayed.

The ‘Inspection’ dialogue allows you to capture the following information.

  • Date of the inspection
  • The Region
  • The customer
  • The equipment’s site and location
  • The inspection type, whether rolling or static
  • Notes
  • Tyre serial number
  • Tyre specification
  • Tyre hours
  • Tyre kilometers
  • Remaining Tread Depth inside & outside
  • The inspection status of the asset.  This doesn't change the disposition.
